Commissioned by GIZ, the Batumi Walkability Concept focuses on revitalizing the Old Town of Batumi by creating pedestrian-friendly spaces that enhance mobility, safety, and urban aesthetics. This comprehensive project included research on walkability, an assessment of the current urban environment, and the development of detailed design elements to improve accessibility, comfort, and safety for pedestrians.
Key features included the integration of greenery, traffic calming measures, and street furniture, promoting a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable urban environment. The initiative also emphasized stakeholder participation and international best practices to ensure the project’s success.
